Appointment of a Deputy Chief Executive Officer
(Full Time)
Salary Scale SCP: 37 - 42 (£46,731 - £51,802 per annum) pay award pending
Plus generous Local Government Pension Scheme

Stroud Town Council is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and compassionate leader to join us as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. This pivotal role supports the CEO in steering the Council through an exciting period of transformation, including the development of a new five-year strategy, relocation to new premises, and preparations for Local Government Reorganisation.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams in communications, community development, programme delivery, and administration - ensuring our services reflect the values and priorities of Stroud’s vibrant and engaged community.

You’ll be responsible for:
• Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight across Council functions
• Leading key programmes including youth engagement, public realm improvements, and participatory budgeting
• Ensuring statutory compliance and support financial governance
• Fostering inclusive community development and stakeholder collaboration
• Deputising for the CEO and acting as Proper Officer when required
