Job summary

Community Academies Trust (CAT) is seeking an exceptional Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Operations) to join our Trust Executive Team. This pivotal leadership role will shape the next chapter of the Trust’s development and direct financial and operational functions across 17 schools.

We require a qualified accountant with substantial senior leadership experience in finance and operations, capable of long-term planning, risk management, statutory reporting and governance assurance.

Qualifications

• Has substantial senior leadership experience in finance and operations.
• Strong technical expertise as a qualified accountant with long-term financial planning and risk management.
• Experience in statutory reporting and governance assurance.
• Ability to lead people, resources, systems and organisational change with clarity and credibility.
• Committed to high-quality education and strong governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance, HR, operations, estates, IT, data protection, health and safety, compliance and risk.
• Provide strategic oversight and governance assurances to the Trust Executive Team.
• Support CEO on key strategic matters and ensure schools are supported with clarity and care.
• Represent the Trust with confidence and uphold safeguarding commitments.
