Job Description

Alpine F1 Team have a new opportunity as a Deputy Cell Lead to join our Production team in the Composites department.

Alpine F1 Team is looking for a dedicated Deputy Cell Lead to support our composites production. This role is essential in ensuring efficient communication, quality control, and continuous improvement within the cell.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct communication between Technicians and the Cell Lead, setting targets and reporting progress.
  • Working as part of a team with a common goal, fostering a team ethic within the cell.
  • Helping to build a team ethic within the cell, keeping everyone involved and communicating targets and deadlines.
  • Meeting deadlines set by event calendars and department requirements using company systems, including “Work To Lists” and D365.
  • Supporting and mentoring composite technicians.
  • Assisting in planning and coordinating daily production activities, setting up the workload for the following shift within the cell.
  • Conducting regular quality checks.
  • Highlighting and resolving any local queries in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Organising working areas to ensure all parts associated with the relevant cell are in the designated working area.
  • Ensuring the area is clean and tidy at the end of every shift and all handovers are completed.
  • Recording and clearly communicating any non-conformance as per department procedures.
  • Implementing and maintaining health and safety protocols.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as an understudy to the Cell Lead as required.

The Person

  • Excellent engineering background with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, and manufacture parts in accordance with equipment available, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Proficient use of current department technology.
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of MS Office products, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 and company systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to create a positive profile for yourself and the department.
  • Flexible approach to working to achieve targets within a fast-paced environment.
  • High performer with the ability to remain focused and objective under pressure, working to strict deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communicator.
  • Well-organised with attention to detail.
  • Team player with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping and adherence to health and safety policies at all times.
