Job summary

Sense is seeking a Deputy Care Manager in West Bromwich to lead a team supporting people with complex disabilities. The role combines 22.5 hours of admin with 15 hours of hands-on care, reporting to the Registered Care Manager.

The home is rated Good by CQC and offers a supportive, values-driven environment. The role includes planning rosters, supervising staff, and hands-on care with learning disabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a care/support team
• Comfort providing hands-on care to people with learning disabilities and complex needs
• Proficient in rostering and admin tasks
• Knowledge of person-centred planning and reviews

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the staff team with the Registered Care Manager
• Plan rotas, cover absence, induct new starters
• Get to know the people we support and shape their plans accordingly
• Provide hands-on support including 2:1 when needed
• Participate in activities and ensure service safety and compliance
• Share on-call cover including some evenings, weekends and bank holidays
