Deputy Care Manager

Swansea

27000 - 30000 Negotiable on Experience

We are looking for a Deputy Care Manager to support the Registered Care Manager of a well established care provider who provide support to their clients in the domiciliary care sector.

The Role

You will assist the Registered Care Manager in the management and running of operations, ensuring compliance with governing bodies and legislation as well as deputising for the Registered Care Manager int their absence. This is a full time permanent position working Monday - Friday 08:30AM - 05:00PM. There are also on-call duties required for 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend in every 4.

Duties will include:

  • Assist in the coordinating the development of a high quality private domiciliary care service for older people in the local area
  • Manage the process of client acquisition from initial contact to conversion
  • Carry out care planning and conduct risk assessments
  • Ensure successful operation of quality control systems and performing quality assurance visits for clients.
  • Promote the highest standards of care and service
  • Continually reviewing and improving processes
  • Effectively managing complaints and incidents, carrying out investigations relating to the quality of the service and using those findings to initiate improvements
  • Ensure reports are forwarded to relevant bodies
  • Network in the local community and via digital media to raise awareness of the service
  • Provide inspired leadership to the team to ensure exceptional service is delivered and workloads are managed to ensure safe staffing levels
  • Support the recruitment and training of Care Professionals and the office team
  • Take part in disciplinary investigations, interviews and meetings
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to by your team
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and regulations

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Minimum of a Level 4 qualification in a Health and Social Care subject is essential
  • Extensive care experience providing consistent excellent customer service
  • Experience in leading, training and managing a team to provide high quality domiciliary care services
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of compliance and legislative requirements of the Care Inspectorate Wales regulations and Social Care Wales requirements
  • Strong ability to conduct care assessment and care planning
  • Driving license and assess to a vehicle essential
  • Ability to build solid working relationships
  • Strong organisation and planning skills
  • Drive and motivation to take on a broad role and develop care services.
  • Passionate about providing the highest quality of care
  • Commercially aware with strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Proven ability to achieve business growth targets
  • Work well and accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid IT skills
