Opened in 2018, Blatchington Manor is a purpose-built specialist dementia care home in Seaford, East Sussex. The Home has been sympathetically designed to offer high quality, dedicated specialised care, devoted to residents who are living with memory loss, including Alzheimers and other forms of dementia.

Job responsibilities
Daily management and coordination of resident care to include clinical assessments, audits, evidenced based clinical interventions, and person-centred care.
Carry out some Clinical audits of the home, assimilate information and analyse so outcomes can be used to improve the service.
Lead care teams to ensure skills are recognised and matched to where they are most needed in order to provide the best care.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of policies and procedures ensuring that these are implemented and followed.
Recognise skill gaps and areas for development in care teams. Support those requiring further knowledge and refer to training department as required.
Assist in the management of HR matters for staff and colleagues within the home, including interviewing, appraisals, grievances, probationary periods, and reflections.
Facilitate regular meetings with residents and families to enhance the teams ability to provide care that is truly reflective of the people living within the home.
Keep up to date with all clinical training so evidence-based practice is always followed.
Support the home manager in all areas of clinical accountability.
Alternate week and weekend on-call is required.
Skills, qualifications and knowledge
Essential:
Qualified Nursing Associate
Experience of managing, mentoring, training and appraising a skilled care team.
Previous clinical experience in geriatric, frailty, and dementia care.
Desirable
Able to prioritise between tasks to achieve the most satisfactory outcome
Good reporting skills both verbal and non-verbal
Have some experience in managing teams
Qualified Mentor
We are looking for someone who is:
Hands on in their approach and a can-do attitude
An ability to think on your feet and under pressure when dealing with multiple tasks
Good communication skills and the ability to get on with people but be able to act with confidence when dealing with staff, residents, managers, directors and contractors
Some IT skills such as Excel, Word, MS Office etc. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
A problem solver and solution provider as well as being a quick learner
Has high professional and moral standards
