Job description

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Care Home Manager to work in an exceptional care home based in the Colchester, Essex area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

The care home emphasises dementia and mental health care and also has skills to care for younger people with dementia in an annex adjacent to the main home.

To be considered for this position you must have an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care.

As the Deputy Manager your key duties include:

  1. Support the Home Manager and deal with the day-to-day running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
  2. Alongside the Home Manager, manage and have responsibility for all aspects of the service in line with CQC requirements.
  3. Ensure service users receive the highest standards of professional support, experiencing life opportunities that promote growth and independence.
  4. Promote ownership of care programs by fully involving service users and their families in developing, agreeing, and evaluating care programs within the home.

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

  1. The ability to engage with service users to understand their needs in order to provide excellent services of care.
  2. Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
  3. The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with external care professionals, families, visitors, and staffing teams.

The successful Deputy Care Home Manager will receive an excellent salary of £30,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role for 40 hours a week working through day shifts. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive the following generous benefits:
