The post holder will work closely with the Associate Medical Director for PDME, programme Directors, departmental educational leads/speciality tutors and the medical school. Liaise with Departmental Clinical Leads to ensure educational needs are delivered and contractual obligations are met in respect of doctors in training, and that medical education and training is fully integrated with the delivery and future requirements of the services.
To work collaboratively with the Deanery and other clinical teachers, ensuring an ongoing, programme of education and support, whilst assisting the Medical Director for PDME in the development/organisation of educational activities within the Trust.

Maintain familiarity with all GMC standards and relevant curricula.
Work closely with the Associate Medical Director for PMDE, Programme Directors, Departmental Educational Leads/Specialty Tutors and the Medical School.
Liaise with Departmental Clinical Leads to ensure educational needs are delivered and contractual obligations met in respect of doctors in training, and that medical education and training is fully integrated with the delivery and future requirements of the services.
In collaboration with the Hospital Dean and other Clinical Teachers, ensure an ongoing programme of education and support.
To assist the Associate Medical Director for PMDE in development/organisation of educational activities within the Trust.
To oversee the training and supervision of trainees based at RSUH & County Hospital.
To work with the PMDE team to manage and quality control the UHNM placements for training.
To ensure that each placement in the program meets the educational aims specified for the placement. This should include a clear description that outlines how the competences, including the general professional competences, are covered in each placement
To participate in the Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) panels.
To ensure that the educational climate in the Trust is conducive to learning, including responding to patient safety.
Provide training in eportfolio to trainees and trainers as required.
Initiating remedial support for any doctor needing professional support (and, if necessary, initiating disciplinary action in the face of poor performance).
To assist the PMDE team in ensuring provision of a system of careers advice and counselling for Doctors within the Trust and HEEWM.
To attend the Medical Education Committee meetings.
To organise and Chair/Co-chair the Junior doctors forum on a regular basis.
To organise skills sessions for multi-professional staff to encourage multi-professional working in achieving improvements in patient safety.
Assist in the development of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education as an active Clinician and Educator.
Participate in College and HEEWM Quality Assurance framework this will include preparation of reports and responses to surveys or QA visits.
Contribute to the Annual Report for Postgraduate Medical Education.
Attend HEEWM Clinical Tutors Committee as required.
Represent the Trusts educational strategy and agenda at LETB meetings.
Be involved with training of others in educational skills e.g. Training the Trainers courses, induction and training of Educational Supervisors for their role.
