Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife with hospital experience for the role of Deputy Head of Midwifery - Quality and Safety at Whipps Cross Hospital. This position supports the Associate Director of Midwifery in developing and implementing the governance strategy for maternity services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the development of the quality and safety agenda to ensure consistent practice, high standards of care, and innovation with a strong patient safety focus.
2. Collaborate with the Divisional Management Team and site governance team to meet group objectives and contribute to strategic policies for midwifery and maternity services.
3. Implement a comprehensive governance approach across maternity services, including embedding the Patient Safety Incidence Review Framework (PSIRF).
4. Ensure risks are effectively managed to safeguard women's safety and develop programs for continuous safety improvement.
5. Provide professional leadership to the Quality and Safety, Safeguarding, and Education teams, overseeing daily operations and governance activities.
6. Support the development and execution of strategic policies aimed at improving patient safety and governance.
