We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-looking Band Specialist Audiologist / Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to join the Audiology Service at Oxford University Hospitals, one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals. We provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for patients with hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders, are a centre for paediatric audiology and have a busy Auditory Implant Programme.
The post is funded at ( and it may be possible to extend this to a full time contract. This is a year fixed term contract to cover an internal secondment.
Main duties of the job
This role spans both adult and paediatric audiology services. The adult aspect involves providing diagnostic and hearing aid rehabilitation services for adults with hearing loss, tinnitus, and hyperacusis, including non-routine and complex cases. The paediatric aspect includes routine and non-routine hearing assessments and hearing aid provision for children of all ages, along with support in ENT clinics. Full training will be provided where needed. You will supervise audiologists in training and contribute to service development.

OUH is one of the UK’s largest teaching hospital trusts, offering a comprehensive paediatric audiology service, assessment of babies from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme, and habilitation for children with hearing loss. The adult audiology service manages hearing loss in adults, with opportunities in tinnitus, hearing therapy, neuro-otology, and neurofibromatosis clinics. Our auditory implant programme supports both services, providing a seamless rehabilitative pathway for patients of all ages.
You will join a large team of Audiologists, Assistant Audiologists, Clinical Scientists, Hearing Therapists, and administrative staff. The service actively trains staff, including STP trainees and degree apprenticeships, and offers an in-house CPD programme.
Applicants should be Audiologists or Clinical Scientists (Audiology) with a BSc, PTP, STP, or MSc in Audiology, registered with AHCS or HCPC. NHS experience in both adult and paediatric audiology is preferred. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and teamwork are essential.
