Deputy ADHD Clinical Lead

United Kingdom (Remote)

Reporting to: ADHD Clinical Lead

Remuneration: £155,000 (FTE) - plus £1000 working from home allowance

Contract Type: Permanent/Part-Time 0.4 WTE

Location: Home-based/various UK meeting locations as required

The Deputy ADHD Clinical Lead works closely with the ADHD Clinical Lead to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within Psychiatry UK. This pivotal role supports the effective governance, operational performance, and continuous improvement of the Adult ADHD service. The Deputy Clinical Lead contributes to the strategic direction of the service by overseeing daily clinical operations, fostering team development, and ensuring all activities align with Psychiatry UK's overarching goals and standards of excellence.

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.

As our Deputy ADHD Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Assist the Clinical Lead in supervising and mentoring clinicians, ensuring adherence to protocols and maintaining high standards of patient care
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, participate in clinical audits, and help maintain patient safety and service excellence
  • Help manage daily operations of the Adult ADHD service, ensuring efficient workflows and optimised patient care pathways
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance efforts, governance reporting, and collaboration with the Quality Governance Team
  • Monitor clinical performance, support performance reviews, and identify training and development needs within the team
  • Contribute to service improvement projects, implementing evidence-based practices and promoting innovative approaches to care
  • Foster a collaborative working environment and engage with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and improvement
  • Work closely with the Clinical Lead, clinical team members, Quality Governance Team, People & Culture Team, and external healthcare partners

You will demonstrate strong clinical judgement, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality patient care. A supportive approach to team development and a passion for advancing ADHD services are essential.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Medical degree with postgraduate qualifications (MRCPsych or equivalent)
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise, and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Significant clinical experience in mental health services, with a focus on ADHD or related specialties
  • Experience in clinical supervision and team support within a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with clinical governance, quality assurance, and audit processes

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role within healthcare, especially mental health
  • Additional qualifications in medical education or clinical teaching
  • Involvement in service development, quality improvement, or research in ADHD or mental health
