Depute Head Teacher - Fixed Term until 31/12/2025

Location: Davidson's Mains Primary School

Salary: £66,606

Hours: 35 per week

Interview Date: Middle of August

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Depute Head Teacher at Davidson's Mains Primary School until the end of December. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to help shape and drive forward our school's vision, with a particular focus on leadership of learning, targeted support at Second Level, and oversight of Primary 7 transition.

School Overview

Davidson's Mains Primary is a non-denominational school located within the Royal High School catchment area in north-west Edinburgh.

Staff and Facilities

The staff includes a Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, a Principal Teacher, 22 class teachers, support staff, and specialists. The school features a modern nursery opened in 2018, additional classrooms opened in 2019, a large gym hall, library, nurture space, music room, and GP space. The school roll for P1-7 is 470 students, organized into 17 classes.

Community and Activities

Strong links with The Royal High Cluster, active Parent School Association, and a variety of after-school sporting and creative activities led by Active Schools Coaches and staff.

Regulatory and Employment Conditions

This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme. The preferred candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory checks.
