With our recent move into new premises, we’re growing fast and looking for a hands-on Depot & Transport Manager to lead from the front and take our East London depot to the next level.

  5. Holds a valid UK manual driving licence and is comfortable with Excel, Outlook, and Word
  6. Leads by example, gets stuck in when needed, and creates a positive, productive environment

What You’ll Be Doing

Operations Management

  1. Oversee and be accountable for the end-to-end evening picking operation
  2. Work closely with supervisors to plan shifts, manage resources, and meet daily targets
  3. Ensure all stock is received, stored, and discrepancies reported within agreed SLAs
  4. Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement across the depot
  5. Maintain accurate and compliant operational documentation
  6. Manage the night-to-day handover process, escalating any issues to customer care

Transport & Fleet Management

  1. Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and regularly maintained
  2. Plan delivery waves in line with picking and customer needs, ensuring safe yard practices
  3. Understand customer routes and expectations thoroughly
  4. Lead, motivate, and support supervisors, pickers, and delivery drivers
  5. Conduct team reviews, regular 1-to-1s, and training to uphold high standards
  6. Ensure depot is always audit-ready (health & safety, transport compliance, etc.)
  7. Ensure depot health & safety policies and SSOWs are followed by staff
  8. Support recruitment for drivers, pickers, and depot staff as needed
  9. Oversee onboarding, induction, and training of new team members
  10. Report depot KPIs directly to the Operations Manager
