What You’ll Do:

The Depot Transport Manager (DTM) is responsible for delivering the transport operation plan, developing a high-performing team of Drivers, managing safety, legal & regulatory compliance, and ensuring policy and process adherence for all vehicles related to the Depot.

The DTM will collaborate with depot management and colleagues to achieve people, service, cost, and quality targets.

You will be accountable for:

• Maintaining budgeted costs and planning the fleet according to forecasted volumes.
• Controlling driver costs and ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to high standards through audits and compliance checks.
• Preparing robust transport planning processes for both business-as-usual and peak periods, accounting for contingencies.
• Managing transport costs, resources, maintenance, repairs, and CPU with support from the DGM.
• Leading accident investigations professionally and urgently when necessary.
• Ensuring legal compliance in documentation and systems, including vehicle servicing, driver hours, tachograph downloads, and training (drivers CPC, MHE, manual handling).

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Full Driving License
• Transport Manager CPC National Certificate

Knowledge & Experience:

• 2-3 years in a Transport Management role with knowledge of legal compliance, drivers’ hours, and WTDs.
• Experience with transport management systems and tachograph analysis.
• Experience in drug and alcohol testing.
• Experience managing a large, diverse team in a busy 24/7 operation.
