Job summary

Partnership Recruiting is supporting an established business with a busy Grangemouth depot to recruit a Depot Supervisor. You will oversee safe, compliant day-to-day operations and work closely with drivers, vehicles and the wider team to keep routes and deliveries on schedule.

This hands-on role requires strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills, with the potential to move vehicles in/out for external servicing when needed. HGV licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, fleet or depot operations.
• Understanding of vehicle, driver and depot compliance.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driver debriefs and review failed or delayed deliveries.
• Identify, record and elevate vehicle defects and breakdowns.
• Ensure depot paperwork and compliance checks are completed accurately.
• Carry out daily depot, yard and vehicle walk-around checks.
• Support daily transport planning, vehicle allocation and route changes.
• Prepare and issue routes to drivers.
• Deliver toolbox talks and operational updates.
• Use transport management, telematics and route planning systems.
• Complete depot audits, gate checks and scheduled vehicle inspections.
• Produce and maintain driver, vehicle and fleet performance reports.
• Coordinate with external vehicle, tyre and maintenance providers.
• Provide cover for other members of the depot management team when required.
• Support the wider depot operation and resolve day-to-day operational issues.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of an established business with a busy depot operation in Grangemouth. They are looking for an experienced and proactive Depot Supervisor to support the safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day running of the site.

This is a hands-on operational role and would suit someone with experience in transport, logistics, fleet or depot operations who is comfortable working closely with drivers, vehicles and the wider operations team.

You’ll play an important part in ensuring the depot runs smoothly, resolving operational issues and making sure vehicles, drivers and routes are ready for the following day.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience within transport, logistics, fleet management or depot operations.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• A good understanding of vehicle, driver and depot compliance
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Confidence dealing with drivers and making operational decisions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence using operational systems, data and reports
• Experience with transport management, telematics or route planning systems would be advantageous
• An HGV licence would be a strong advantage, particularly as there may occasionally be a requirement to move vehicles to and from external service providers

Package

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
