Job summary

Breedon Holdings LTD is recruiting a Depot Operative for our Theale Cement Depot. You will be responsible for the safe distribution and receipt of cement by road and rail, operating the bulk storage and loading plant, and ensuring high standards of site hygiene and safety.

Key duties include rail off loading, stock checks, and collaboration with the Admin supervisor on warehouse issues. The role offers full training and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Responsible for safety of themselves and others by following safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulk storage and out loading plant efficiently.
• Rail off loading and monitoring loads before departure.
• Collect and analyse production samples.
• Conduct regular safety, environmental and permit checks and record keeping.
• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping and first line maintenance.
• Liaise with Admin supervisor on warehouse issues.
• General depot operations including equipment handling.
• Perform stocktaking and maintain site profile to high standards.

Job description

We are currently recruiting a Depot Operative to join our small team based in our Theale Cement Depot, where you will be responsible for various duties across the site to ensure the safe distribution and receipt of cement product by road and rail.

Key Responsibilities

• The efficient day-to-day operation of the bulk storage and out loading plant
• Rail off loading
• The collection and analysis of production samples.
• Regular checks and record keeping in regard to health, safety and environment legislation and for local permit requirements.
• General cleaning and housekeeping duties, and first line maintenance duties.
• Liaise with the Admin supervisor on warehouse issues
• We are looking for candidates with some mechanical and/or electrical background
• ensure that the operation meets the customer service requirements by completing each function to the highest standards
• To handle all aspects of Depot Operations, maintaining / operating the equipment
• To check documentation and physically check loads before departure
• To carry out general housekeeping and stocktaking to ensure that the profile of the site is maintained to the very highest standard

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
