Job summary

PQS is seeking a hands-on Depot Manager in Leeds to lead Hire & Sales, Service, Logistics and Warehouse teams, ensuring high customer service standards and operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will run the depot day to day, manage holidays and staffing, optimise driver routing and reporting, and uphold health and safety and quality across the operation. This role offers autonomy and influence in a growing national network.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership or depot/branch management experience.
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and people management ability.
• Good IT and system literacy.
• Solid industry knowledge (hire, plant, tools, or similar sectors preferred).
• Strong numeracy and organisational skills.
• Flexible, proactive, and hands‑on work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Hire & Sales, Service, Logistics, and Warehouse teams.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Manage day-to-day depot operations and staffing.
• Drive cross‑team communication between sales, logistics, accounts, and procurement.
• Plan driver routing and daily scheduling.
• Maintain company vans and fleet standards.
• Lead, motivate and manage depot teams day to day.
• Handle holidays, uniforms and staffing levels.
• Produce reports to company requirements.
