Job summary

PQS is seeking a hands-on Depot Manager in Leeds to lead Hire & Sales, Service, Logistics and Warehouse teams, ensuring high customer service standards and operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will run the depot day to day, manage holidays and staffing, optimise driver routing and reporting, and uphold health and safety and quality across the operation. This role offers autonomy and influence in a growing national network.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for depot performance, overseeing Hire & Sales, Service, Logistics, and Warehouse teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role with real autonomy and influence. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the depot, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and team performance.

• Ensure customer enquiries are handled promptly and professionally (counter, phone, and email)
• Oversee customer contracts and ensure systems are accurate and up to date
• Ensure depot procedures, policies, and systems are followed consistently
• Drive strong communication between sales, logistics, accounts, and procurement teams
• Ensure efficient driver routing and daily planning
• Maintain company vans and fleet standards
• Ensure staff are trained, compliant, and professionally presented
• Lead, motivate, and manage depot teams day to day
• Manage holidays, uniforms, and staffing levels
• Ensure the depot is fully operational during business hours
• Take a hands‑on approach when required to support customers and business objectives
• Produce reports in line with company requirements
