Job description

We at Oak Furnitureland are going through an exciting transformation across our business, to ensure we remain innovative, competitive, and consistently delivering exceptional services and products to our customers. To do this, we need to hire and retain great talent like you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team, ensuring focus and progress towards goals.
  2. Coordinate a fleet of over 20 vehicles, maintaining compliance with all transport legislation including EU and UK rules.
  3. Advise and train staff on safe operating procedures and checks.
  4. Maintain accurate staff and vehicle records.
  5. Support warehouse operations and ensure compliance with DVSA standards.
  6. Manage people through performance reviews, staff development, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  7. Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Previous Experience:

  • Transport or logistics management experience.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and team management skills.
  • Experience in warehouse or distribution environments.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations.
  • IT literacy, particularly with WMS systems.
  • Ability to analyze and report operational performance.
  • Knowledge of H&S and HR legislation.
  • Management CPC / OLAT qualification is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Coatbridge Depot
  • Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (flexibility for early/late shifts)
