A well-established freight forwarding, logistics, and storage company in the Dover, Kent area is seeking a dynamic Depot / Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive continued growth.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a background in logistics, and a hands-on approach to both operations and team management. You'll be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high service standards, and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management

• Lead and manage a small team effectively.
• Set and track individual performance targets.
• Mentor team members and support their daily tasks.
• Manage staff leave to ensure operational continuity.
• Confidently delegate responsibilities.

Depot Operations

• Oversee efficient daily depot operations.
• Ensure health and safety compliance.
• Manage pallet storage and distribution.
• Handle international freight forwarding and customs clearance.
• Provide regular financial forecasts and reports.
• Champion process improvement and tech adoption.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in logistics and freight forwarding.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of export/import customs procedures.
• Background in warehouse pallet storage and international logistics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
