About Your New Depot Manager Role

My client is a well-established Fleet Maintenance company with approximately 20 depots across the UK. They maintain high standards, boast a near 100% first-time MOT pass rate, and provide staff with ongoing training and progression opportunities. They are seeking an experienced Depot Manager to oversee the Birmingham site.

Responsibilities of the Depot Manager

• Manage approximately 200 pieces of equipment, including trucks and trailers
• Lead, motivate, and support a team of around 12 HGV Technicians and support staff to ensure high standards
• Manage workshop operations, plan workload and resources, and ensure efficient workflow and timely documentation
• Ensure staff are trained on safe workshop practices and proper use of equipment
• Maintain compliance with legal and company standards at all times
• Oversee the daily operation of a 24/7 workshop to ensure productivity and quality repairs

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a depot manager
• Full UK driving license (for car allowance)
• At least 5 years' experience working on HGV vehicles or relevant qualifications, with experience on various commercial vehicles preferred
• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
• COSHH/IOSH management experience is beneficial
