Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Working Depot Lead for Millbrook Depot, Southampton. This full-time role runs 4 nights on, 4 nights off (18:00–06:00) with a 40.25 hour week, and includes managing depot operations, stock handling, PPE orders, and audits.

Based at Millbrook Depot, you will ensure standards, tidiness, health and safety compliance, and audit readiness. Training is provided, and the role may involve outdoor work and manual handling.

Qualifications

• Industry accreditations are required
• Health and Safety certifications (IOSH/First Aid) are advantageous
• Experience in drainage, utilities or retail sectors is beneficial
• A full UK driving licence is required
• Experience in a depot, stores or facilities role is desirable
• Experience with asset/stock control or auditing processes is advantageous
• Basic IT literacy for logging and recording information is needed
• Class 2 HGV licence is desirable

Responsibilities

• Key & Asset Management: maintain logs for keys, fuel cards; issue/collect keys; safeguard assets and escalate missing items
• Site Housekeeping: keep depot clean, tidy and organised; monitor parking and vehicle positioning; support stores and yard upkeep
• Audits & Compliance: conduct regular audits, identify discrepancies and support corrective actions; assist with inspections
