Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall design delivery of the Calvert Infrastructure Maintenance Depot, from scheme design through to as-built stage.
  • Coordinate and lead the design for the depot, supervising designers and subcontractors, ensuring integration of design stages, and managing digital deliverables in line with project timelines and budgets.
  • Secure permits and consents related to design, engaging with stakeholders and the consenting team.
  • Attend and chair meetings with construction and design teams, and support resolving design issues.
  • Coordinate with the construction team on design issues, engaging with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist the client in identifying changes, risks, and opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Provide technical input for commercial documentation and support interface management to ensure integrated and constructible design.
  • Report on design delivery performance, including cost, schedule, scope, and compliance.
  • Manage technical assurance processes during design, construction, and handover, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key skills and experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction requirements.
  • Experience managing railway depot designs or large, complex railway stations.
  • Understanding of architectural, MEP, and railway engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in managing design teams, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
