Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a Depositary Associate in Greater London. You will manage portfolios across private markets funds, act as the main contact for clients, and oversee day-to-day depositary activities while ensuring regulatory and control standards are met.

You will mentor junior team members and support onboarding, risk assessments and reporting. A CAIA qualification is encouraged to support career progression.

Job description

An alternative investment services provider is seeking a Depositary Associate to manage a portfolio of funds and coordinate day-to-day depositary activities across multiple clients. You will take ownership of client delivery, oversee key regulatory and operational controls, and help mentor junior team members in a high-performing environment.

Our client is a growing specialist financial services organisation operating within the alternative investment sector. The business supports private markets funds across a range of asset classes and offers employees exposure to complex, high-value fund structures within an entrepreneurial and quality-focused environment.

Description

• Manage an allocated portfolio of private equity, real estate, private credit, venture capital and infrastructure funds.
• Act as the main day-to-day contact for clients and oversee service delivery.
• Coordinate client meetings, reporting timetables and ongoing relationship management.
• Support client onboarding, risk assessments and control reviews.
• Oversee depositary testing relating to subscriptions, drawdowns, acquisitions, disposals and distributions.
• Monitor cash movements, investigate exceptions and maintain robust audit trails.
• Verify asset ownership, safekeeping arrangements and compliance with fund documentation.
• Apply AIFMD oversight requirements and support annual review processes.
• Review and coordinate work completed by junior colleagues and provide coaching where appropriate.
• Assist with reporting and related regulatory obligations.

Profile

• Experience within depositary services, fund administration, audit, accountancy, compliance or a related financial services control function.
• Exposure to private markets funds such as private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital or private credit is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of risk management, controls, governance and audit trails.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with clients and stakeholders.
• High level of attention to detail with a proactive and accountable approach.
• Ability to review the work of others and support the development of junior team members.
• Willingness to pursue the CAIA qualification.
