Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a hands-on project engineer for end-to-end delivery of 1MW modular fuel plants, from factory handover to field commissioning. You will split time between a London factory and project sites across the UK, playing a pivotal role in scaling operations.

In this role you will lead deployment activities, coordinate timelines and risk registers, manage civil subcontractors, and ensure compliance with CDM and UK Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of deployment and construction management experience on hardware projects.
• Engineering degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
• Experience coordinating multi-trade construction and subcontractors.
• Experience deploying hardware in remote or resource-constrained environments.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and UK Health and Safety.
• Based in the UK, on-site five days a week in London and field sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil subcontractors across groundworks, utility connections, wiring, pipeline routes, and solar installation.

• Collaborate closely with production and permitting teams to align manufacturing schedules with deployment timelines.
• Serve as the on-the-ground bridge between factory operations and field sites, splitting time between London and project locations.

About the Role

This is a hands-on project engineering role focused on the end-to-end delivery of modular synthetic fuel plants, from factory through to field commissioning. You will sit within the Deployment team, reporting to the Head of Deployment, and play a critical part in scaling operations across the UK and into Europe. What You'll Do

• Manage the full project delivery lifecycle for 1MW modular systems, from factory handover to operational field sites.
• Coordinate timelines, Gantt charts, and risk registers, flagging issues early to keep deployments on schedule.
• Manage civil subcontractors across groundworks, utility connections, wiring, pipeline routes, and solar installation.
• Ensure all site construction activities comply with CDM regulations and UK Health and Safety requirements.
• Collaborate closely with production and permitting teams to align manufacturing schedules with deployment timelines.
• Serve as the on-the-ground bridge between factory operations and field sites, splitting time between London and project locations.

What We're Looking For

• 5 or more years of experience managing deployment and construction of physical hardware or infrastructure at project sites.
• A degree in engineering or physical sciences (civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical).
• Proven experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-trade construction activities.
• Background deploying hardware in remote or resource-constrained environments (such as energy, defence, or research settings).
• Solid knowledge of CDM regulations and UK Health and Safety compliance.
• Technical literacy across civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
• Proficiency with programme scheduling tools including Gantt charts, risk registers, and budget tracking.
• Based in the UK and able to work on-site five days per week across London and field project sites.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 50,000 to 75,000 GBP per year. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

On-site, primarily between a London factory and project sites. The role requires regular travel within the UK.
