Job summary

Arondite is seeking a Deployed Software Engineer to implement our technology at customer locations across the UK and worldwide. You will gather user feedback and collaborate with the engineering team to enhance core features.

You will travel to sites, deploy products, and write code to connect data sources, solving customer problems and testing autonomous systems in the field. A strong customer-facing mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/scientific subject.
• Strong core programming skills in server-side languages (C++, Java, Rust or Python) or front-end in TypeScript/JavaScript with Angular/React.

About the Role

We work closely alongside our customers to deploy our technology. As a Deployed Software Engineer at Arondite, you'll be responsible for implementing our technology with customers so that it effectively solves their real-world problems. You'll collect feedback from end users and work with the wider engineering team to contribute back to the development of core product features.

You'll often need to travel to customer locations in the UK and across the world. The locations could be their offices, or they could be at testing or exercise sites "in the field". Once there you'll need to figure out unfamiliar systems, engage directly with users and deploy Arondite's products by writing code that solves their use cases.

Responsibilities

• Travelling to customer sites to meet users and understand their use cases
• Deploying our products into customer environments
• Writing code to connect data sources and to solve specific customer problems
• Interfacing with and testing autonomous and robotic systems in the field
• Iterating with customers to refine implementations to maximize user value
• Collaborating with other deployed engineers with diverse skill sets, including AI/ML, networking, and robotics
• Driving a culture of excellence within the deployed team and the wider company

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical/scientific subject
• Strong core programming skills in either
  • Server‑side languages such as C++, Java, Rust or Python, OR
  • Front‑end development in TypeScript or JavaScript, using frameworks such as Angular or React
• A deep enthusiasm for expanding your knowledge of a diverse technology stack
• Strong customer‑facing communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site with customers

Ideally you would also have

• Understanding of working on embedded / resource constrained devices
• Experience of working with legacy systems
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with machine learning applications
• Passion for or experience working with hardware

Right to Work

Security Clearance

You will be required to hold a clearance or be willing to undergo UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above. This normally requires having continuous residency in the UK for at least five years.
