We have an exciting volunteer opportunity based at Dudley Probation Office, supporting the Change Grow Live Dependency and Recovery team.

Responsibilities

Probation Community Rehabilitation Services

Volunteering in Dependency and Recovery Projects

We are a specialist service dedicated to supporting people on probation impacted by substance misuse.

As a Dependency & Recovery Support Volunteer, you will work closely with Dependency and Recovery Coordinators to deliver a range of tailored activities to adult males who are on probation.

Our Dependency and Recovery Coordinators deliver psychosocial interventions 1 to 1 and in group sessions. The interventions cover

  • alcohol and drug use
  • harm minimisation
  • offending behaviour
  • consequential thinking
  • developing positive coping strategies

This volunteer role is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience of working in both Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Prison and Probation field.

You will join a supportive team and receive comprehensive training and guidance to help you to develop in the role.

Please note before applying

  • The volunteer role is based at Dudley Probation office on Wednesday during office hours (4hrs)
  • Some of the training for this role is elearning and so access to a laptop in order to complete this will be beneficial
  • This post is subject to a DBS check at an enhanced level and vetting enhanced level 1 by HMPPS
  • We welcome applications from those with or without Lived Experience of drugs, alcohol and the criminal justice system.
