Join IKEA Exeter as a Department Sales Manager and work collaboratively with your team to co-create the wonderful everyday with our many guests!

If you're a proactive leader with demonstrated experience of driving sales growth within a commercial retail environment, have a passion for home furnishings, and are looking to grow your career with IKEA, this may be the perfect role for you!

What We Offer
  • Starting salary of £34,000 per annum dependent on skills and experiences.
  • 39 hours a week, working 5 days over 7 (including 1 - 2 late shifts a week), including alternate weekends.
  • We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our guests, so this role will require availability to work during the day, late evenings, and full weekends.
  • We are happy to discuss flexibility and your availability at interview.
What You'll Need to Have

You bring at least three years of experience managing people in a commercial retail environment. A proactive and passionate leader, you will become an integral part of our sales management team, and you can demonstrate experience delivering to sales targets and organisational priorities. We believe it is important that you have a proactive mindset, collaborating with your team to steer your department and taking advantage of sales opportunities.

You lead through the IKEA Values and can inspire those around you, including leading by example and delegating responsibilities where necessary. You work cross-functionally with other departments and, using your exceptional communication skills, can champion flexibility, speed, and simplicity.

You will be someone who believes in and can work in line with the IKEA Concept and Brand Identity.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day
  • Take responsibility for your department goals and ensure your action plan aligns with the country priorities for your store. Follow up and take action accordingly by using proven solutions and good examples.
  • Act quickly on commercial opportunities and ensure your shop is in excellent shape—clean, tidy, priced, and stocked.
  • Develop a successful team ensuring they have the correct knowledge of the range and IKEA services, so they can share this with our customers to provide an excellent shopping experience.
  • Work with succession planning to identify talent, ensuring the right number of competent co-workers are in the right place at the right time.
