Berkshire Community Dental Service is seeking a passionate and skilled Dental Therapist to join a proactive, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking team. We pride ourselves on our strong team spirit and commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients with additional needs.


Our service covers seven clinics across Berkshire, from Newbury to Langley, with a team of forty staff providing specialist dental care to patients with additional needs, including children, people with learning and physical disabilities, and the elderly.


In this role, you will be primarily based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, with opportunities to work across other clinics and in domiciliary care settings. It is essential that you have access to a vehicle for work or can travel to meet service needs. Please note that not all locations or care bases may be accessible by public transport.

You will provide clinical care to people with additional or special needs, such as:

  • People with Learning Disabilities
  • Medically compromised and physically disabled adults
  • Frail Older People
  • Adults with severe mental health problems
  • Adults with challenging behavior, anxiety, or dental phobia
  • Adults in secure units and prisons
  • Potentially treating patients under sedation and general anesthesia
  • Responsible for some areas of clinical governance, training, management, and supervision
