Job summary

Compass is recruiting a Dental Therapist to help build a brand new Oral Health service in Tower Hamlets, delivering preventative, educational and clinical dental care to children in schools and community settings. The role offers flexible working patterns (full time, part time or term-time) with 37 hours per week and a permanent contract.

Salary: £39,351 - £48,108 pro rata, with Inner London Weighting where applicable.

Qualifications

BSc or Diploma in Dental Therapy (or equivalent)
Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application
Experience delivering clinical dental therapy services
Experience working with children and families
Knowledge of public health approaches to improving children's oral health
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team

We're building a brand new Oral Health service in Tower Hamlets and are looking for passionate Dental Therapists to join us. Whether you're looking for full time hours, part time working or term time only working, we'd love to hear from you. You'll work directly with children and young people in schools and community settings, delivering preventative, educational and clinical dental care that helps improve oral health, reduce inequalities and create healthier futures. You'll support children to build lifelong healthy habits while helping families access the care they need.

Working alongside school nurses, public health colleagues and a wider multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in shaping a new service from the very beginning. From fluoride varnish applications and oral health assessments to supervised toothbrushing programmes and engaging health promotion activities, no two days will be the same.

For this role, essentially you'll need:

A BSc or Diploma in Dental Therapy (or equivalent).
A Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application.
Experience delivering clinical dental therapy services and preventative dental care.
Experience working with children and families.
Knowledge of public health approaches to improving children's oral health.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children, young people and families.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and delivering high quality, compassionate care.

Experience delivering supervised toothbrushing programmes, working with children who have additional needs or vulnerabilities, delivering fluoride varnish programmes, or qualifications in oral health education or public health would be advantageous but aren't essential.
