Job summary

Compass is recruiting a Dental Therapist to deliver preventative and clinical dental care within schools and community settings in Tower Hamlets. The role offers flexibility (full-time, part-time, or term-time) to fit your needs and aims to reduce oral health inequalities.

You will work with children and families, supporting health promotion activities and fluoride varnish programmes, under a multidisciplinary team alongside school nurses.

Qualifications

BSc or Diploma in Dental Therapy (or equivalent).
GDC registration (Current).
Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application.
Experience delivering clinical dental therapy services and preventative dental care.
Experience working with children and families.
Knowledge of public health approaches to improving children's oral health.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children, young people and families.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and delivering high quality, compassionate care.
Experience with supervised toothbrushing programmes or fluoride varnish programmes is advantageous.

About The Role Looking for a Dental Therapist role that offers flexibility as well as purpose?We're building a brand new Oral Health servic e in Tower Hamlets and are looking for passionate Dental Therapists to join us. Whether you're looking for full time hours, part time working or term time only working, we'd love to hear from you. You'll work directly with children and young people in schools and community settings, delivering preventative, educational and clinical dental care that helps improve oral health, reduce inequalities and create healthier futures. Working alongside school nurses, public health colleagues and a wider multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in shaping a new service from the very beginning. From fluoride varnish applications and oral health assessments to supervised toothbrushing programmes and engaging health promotion activities, no two days will be the same. A BSc or Diploma in Dental Therapy (or equivalent).
Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration.
A Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application.
Experience delivering clinical dental therapy services and preventative dental care.
Experience working with children and families.
Knowledge of public health approaches to improving children's oral health.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children, young people and families.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and delivering high quality, compassionate care.

Experience delivering supervised toothbrushing programmes, working with children who have additional needs or vulnerabilities, delivering fluoride varnish programmes, or qualifications in oral health education or public health would be advantageous but aren't essential.
