A community-focused dental service provider in Plymouth is seeking a qualified Dental Technician. The role involves supporting clinical staff and managing laboratory work, including the design and production of dental appliances. Candidates should be registered with the General Dental Council and possess strong numeracy skills. We have exciting opportunity for a Dental Technicianto join our team in Plymouth.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivatedindividual whose duties will include supportingthe operational, clinical and contractual requirements of Peninsula DentalSocial Enterprise (PDSE) relating to the design, construction and procurementof internal and external laboratory work, through supporting the clinical staffand students, liaising with external companies and informing and delivering thecurriculum.
Provide support to the PDSE Management Team to develop andimplement a Laboratory strategy for PDSE
Provide technical input in the development of clinical policy andprocedure around the production and delivery of dental prosthodontics
Provide support to the Clinical Team around design and productionof dental appliances and communicate with consultants, clinicians, students andexternal partners.
Provide technical input to assist with treatment planing, labprescriptions, material selection and suitability, fault finding for complexequipment and materials.
Provide an expert opinion in investigations of incidents involvinglaboratory made dental appliances
Produce dental appliancesindependently from start to finish to a high standard
Construct dental models and other appliancesfor teaching purposes
Support the expansion of digitaldentistry across sites.
Use of specialised laboratory equipment maintain and clean asnecessary
Maintain patient records, file prescriptions, store study models,book in lab work
