Locum dental practitioner post for the Ministry of Defence at Stafford Dental Centre, placed through Military Medical Personnel. The role covers full-range dental treatment for service personnel, working independently or with the Senior Dental Officer to meet dental fitness targets. A 37-hour week is required with two daily sessions totaling 6.5 hours for direct patient contact.

Applicants must have full GDC registration and recent clinical practice; visa sponsorship is not available.

Formación

• Completed Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or at least 12 months postgraduate primary dental care experience.
• Evidence of recent clinical practice.
• Full GDC registration with no restrictions.
• Dental indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.

Responsabilidades

Locum dental practitioner post covering a 12-week assignment for the Ministry of Defence at Stafford Dental Centre, placed through Military Medical Personnel. The work centres on full-range dental treatment for service personnel, delivered independently or alongside the Senior Dental Officer to meet dental fitness targets. The role is 37 hours a week, with at least 6.5 hours a day in two sessions set aside for direct patient contact. What the job involves

• Provide full-range dental treatment to maintain the oral health of service personnel in your care
• Work independently or assist the Senior Dental Officer to meet dental fitness targets for all entitled personnel, per the SG Policy and Standards Document
• Set aside at least 6.5 hours a day in two sessions for direct patient contact
• Record all treatment on the electronic health record and relevant FMed documents
• Carry out related general administrative duties where required

Qualifications

• Completed Foundation Training in Dentistry in the UK, or at least 12 months full-time postgraduate primary dental care experience, or qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the NHS

Registration & licences

• Full GDC registration without restrictions
• Dental indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation

Experience

• Clinical currency under JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4: a minimum of two clinical sessions a week over the last 15 months

Skills & knowledge

• Trained and current in emergency and resuscitation, practised and tested at least annually to Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and JSP 950 Leaflet 4-6-1
• Completed GDC-recommended CPD in medical emergencies, safeguarding, disinfection and decontamination, and radiography and radiation protection

Checks & eligibility

• Additional health clearance for clinicians performing exposure prone procedures
• Current safeguarding certification for children, young people and adults up to Level 3
• PVG membership (Disclosure Scotland) or Access Northern Ireland certificate
• Right to work in the UK with no restrictions on hours
• Satisfactory compliance requirements before placement
