We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 4 qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse to work in our Prison Dental Services, based at HMP Rochester. We are seeking to appoint someone who is passionate about delivering a high quality standard of care to our patients.

Our service covers Special Care & Paediatric services; we also provide domiciliary care, prison dentistry and treatment under Sedation & General Anaesthetic.

You will be an ambassador for the service, providing patient centred and effective care is at the heart of everything we do and pride ourselves in demonstrating our values that people feel cared for, safe and confident that we are making a difference in everything we do.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the provision of Dental Nursing skills supporting the clinician in the delivery of Dental and Oral Health Care.

To maintain the efficient running of the Dental Service environment, maintaining clinical professional development and registration.

While based at HMP sites the post holder may be required to travel to provide dental nursing or reception cover at other dental sites as per service need.

Person specification

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NEBDN Certificate in Dental Nursing/NVQ 3
  • GDC Registered
  • City and Guilds in Oral Health or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience working in a GDS dental service setting
  • Current Enhanced Prison clearance

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven ability to work within a team and to work using own initiative
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Understanding of Health & Safety issues
  • Experience of using the Dentally software application or similar

KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of and commitment to upholding clinical standards
  • Awareness of the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace
