Job summary

Maryport Smile Centre invites applications for an Apprentice Dental Nurse to join our busy, modern practice in Maryport. You will assist clinicians, maintain surgeries, and follow infection control procedures while gaining hands-on experience.

Full training and study support are provided through Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing, safeguarding and first aid. The role includes reception duties and developing practical skills for a future in dental nursing.

Qualifications

Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing is required for training and progression.
Experience with infection prevention and control procedures is valued.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during clinical procedures.
Maintain health and safety and cross infection policies within the surgery.
Assist with fillings, root canal, crown and denture preparation and extractions.
Assessments may include minor oral surgery.
Assist hygienist with Scale and polish and oral health promotion.
Record and store notes, charting, medical history and radiographs.
Reception duties: answer calls, greet patients, book appointments.
Dispose of all waste correctly (clinical, sharps, amalgam, domestic).
Assist with patient and equipment preparation for taking x-rays.
