Job summary

A dental practice in Devon and Torbay is seeking a Dental Nurse to assist in clinical procedures, maintain hygiene standards, and support patient relationships. The ideal candidate should have a genuine interest in dental nursing, effective communication skills, and the ability to work as a team player. A Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing and a good grasp of Maths and English is required. This position entails a commitment to patient confidentiality and a willingness to engage in vocational training.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing competency qualification is required.
  • Functional Skills, Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number (unless exempt).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all clinical procedures providing chair-side assistance.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the laboratory.
  • Contribute to regular practice meetings.
  • Assist in manning the reception/patient lounge as needed.

Job description
Overview

Assist the Dentist/Hygienist in all clinical procedures providing chair-side assistance which includes maintaining impeccable standards of hygiene and cross infection control, preparing instrument trays for procedures and ensuring surgery management is adhered to. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed promptly and accurately and assist in managing the appointment book. Build trusting and caring relationships with patients, ensure their comfort and retain them as a client maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the laboratory on timely dispatch and receipt of work.
  • Proactively contribute to regular practice meetings.
  • Assist in manning the reception/patient lounge (as the business necessitates), providing a customer-focused and seamless patient journey according to the practice’s brand standards, that assists in recruiting and retaining patients.
  • The wage will be dependent on age and experience.
Training

Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. This is the competency qualification that will be assessed in your workplace.

Functional Skills, Level 2 Communication and Application of Number (unless exempt).
