Job summary

Military Medical Personnel seeks a Locum Dental Nurse for the Ministry of Defence at Wattisham Dental Centre, Ipswich. The role is 22.5 hours per week, delivering high standards of care to MoD personnel.

The position operates as a locum with an hourly rate of £19.54. You will manage clinic tasks, maintain records, and adhere to GDC standards and infection control. UK work rights required.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
• Valid indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• Clinical currency: a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the last 15 months.
• Completion of CPD courses (e.g., medical emergencies, safeguarding, radiography).
• Current certification in emergency and resuscitation procedures.
• Health clearance for Exposure Prone Procedures (tuberculosis, Hepatitis, HIV).
• Safeguarding Children and Adults Level 3 certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical duties including preparing and sterilising instruments.
• Operate the dental computing system and process radiographs.
• Manage patient appointments and dental records with proper documentation.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and Health & Safety policies.
• Support central sterilisation area as required and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job summary

We are looking for a Locum Dental Nurse to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Wattisham Dental Centre, in Ipswich, Suffolk.

This is a locum role (22.5 hours per week) and the successful candidate will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.

Hourly Rate: £19.54

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical duties including preparing and sterilising instruments, operating the dental computing system, and processing radiographs.
• Manage patient appointments, dental records and ensure proper documentation of dental prosthetic appliances.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and follow Health and Safety policies.
• Assist in the central sterilisation area as required.
• Ensure compliance with GDC (General Dental Council) standards and current legislation.

Essential Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous Ministry of Defence (MOD) experience.
• Dental Nurse qualification.
