Job summary

Ss Shorts & Associates, part of Clyde Munro Group, is recruiting a full-time Dental Nurse in Alloa to provide chair-side support and maintain high standards of patient care. The role involves ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, accurate record-keeping, and assisting clinicians with routine and laboratory tasks.

The practice emphasises a caring family atmosphere and offers opportunities for ongoing professional development within the Clyde Munro group.

Qualifications

• Must be GDC registered and eligible to work in the UK.
• Experience in Private or NHS practices is beneficial.
• Must demonstrate high levels of patient care.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team.
• Enthusiastic with a desire to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side support in daily practice and clinical sessions.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Software of Excellence.
• Set up surgeries for each session to maximise efficiency.
• Anticipate clinician and patient needs and prepare lab work/equipment accordingly.
• Monitor stock levels and manage supplies.
• Undertake reception duties including calls, appointments, and collecting charges.

Due to a growing team, we are excited to be recruiting a full-time Dental Nurse to join our team at Shorts & Associates in Alloa.

At Short & Associates, we consider ourselves to be a caring family practice and welcome patients of all ages. Our aim is to provide high quality treatment in a comfortable and relaxed setting to make your visit to us as pleasant and relaxed as possible.

Established more than 60 years ago, our well-regarded practice has enjoyed treating generations of patients throughout the years. We have continued to evolve and remain a modern, efficient surgery, whilst promoting traditional values.

There is free parking behind the practice.

Your Role

You will be responsible for providing chair side support in all day-to-day activities within the practice and surgeries. You will play an important role in a ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care while complying with all clinical and health & safety guidance.

Other duties include –

• Creating a welcoming environment for patients that sets them at ease from the outset
• Maximising the use of the internal system (Software of Excellence) to ensure accurate patient records are maintained
• Ensuring the surgery is set up appropriately for each session throughout the day to maximise the efficiency of the practice and surgery utilisation
• Anticipating the requirements of the clinician and patient in advance of their session and ensure necessary lab work and equipment is in place
• Monitoring surgery stocks to ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained
• Undertaking reception duties when required including answering the telephone, making appointments and collecting patient charges

About You

• Must be GDC registered
• Experience working in Private / NHS practices is beneficial
• Willing to demonstrate the highest levels of patient care
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• Enthusiastic, with an appetite to learn and develop new skills
