Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a Dental Core Trainee in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The position involves comprehensive training under the guidance of experienced consultants in various surgical settings, including outpatient clinics and hospitals, providing essential services to the community.
The post holder will undertake a 1 in 8 out-of-hours on-call rota at
Prince Charles Hospital. Experience will be gained in facial hard and soft tissue trauma, oro-facial infection, deformity, pathology of the jaws and oral soft tissues, facial and oral neoplasia, and dento-alveolar surgery.
Trainees will work in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, A&E departments, Operating Theatres, and Minor Surgery units.
The surgical team comprises 4 Maxillofacial Consultants: Mr Jonathan Jones, Mr Jonathan Hulbert, Mr Neil Scott, and Mr Sankar Ananth, and one Oral Surgery Consultant, Mr Keith Smart. There is also second on-call support from Associate Specialists and Specialty Doctors.

This Dental Core Training Post in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery involves working under the direction of the consultants in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Daily contact will be made with a multidisciplinary team based on the ward, in the casualty department, operating theatres, outpatient clinics, pharmacy, and administrative staff.
