You will deliver and assess training in Dental Care Professional programmes, manage learners, and support their development. Candidates should have a relevant Dental Care Professional qualification and experience in adult teaching. Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivatedTutor to work within the School of Dental Care Professionals (SODCP).
TheDental Care Professional Tutor will be an integral part of the Postqualification team (Oral Health) within the SODCP. This will include deliveryand assessment within (Dental Care Professional) Post qualification programme(Oral Health) and line management of learners.
Responsiblefor delivery of some Dental Care Professional programmes. Assessment ofLearners within some Dental Care Professional programme.
Linemanagement of Learners within some Dental Care Professional programmes.
Maintenanceand updating of resources used within some Dental Care Professionalprogrammes.

Participate in recruitment andselection of learners for some Dental Care Professional programmes
Participate in learner induction
Responsible for delivery of someDental Care Professional Induction programmes
Monitor learner appearance andbehaviour and take appropriate action when required
Provide support of learners withinsome Dental Care Professional programmes
Agree Assessment plans withallocated learners, working with schemes of work
Review Assessment plans withlearners
Organise planned observations oflearners in the workplace
Judging competency of a variety oflearner evidence against occupational standards
Involvement with course andcurriculum organisation for some Dental Care Professional programmes
Develop and evaluates teachingmaterials
Demonstrate safe use ofequipment/materials used in dentistry and supervise use by learners
Act as nominated assessor forassigned learners
Participate in own appraisal
Conduct appraisals / draw updevelopment plans for learners
Periodically participate inchairside assisting during a range of dental procedures including provisionof pre- and post-operative advice and instruction to maintain clinical skillsand competence of practice to facilitate quality education
Attend meetings as and whenappropriate both in LDI and externally
