Job description

The post holder will be a key member of the Dental Helpdesk and will act as an ambassador for the service by providing a central contact point for daytime emergency dental enquiries and directing callers to the most appropriate service for their needs.

The post holder will manage their own workload and have an excellent telephone manner, dealing with enquiries professionally and helpfully. Experience in a call centre team or a customer-focused role where high-quality customer service is essential is required. The candidate should have standard keyboard skills and be familiar with IT software including Word, Excel, and email.

This advert is for two Dental Access Coordinators, each for 18.75 hours per week.

Working patterns will be:

  • Week 1 - Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 - 16:00
  • Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 8:00 - 16:00

or

  • Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:00 - 16:00
  • Week 2 - Thursday and Friday, 8:00 - 16:00

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing outstanding care by applying customer care principles when delivering routine and complex information and guidance to patients, carers, relatives, or colleagues, both verbally and in writing. Communication should be professional and compassionate, especially when barriers such as anxiety, cultural differences, or language difficulties are present.
  • Ensuring team effectiveness through administrative tasks such as handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, managing diaries, maintaining stock, and completing forms, surveys, and audits.
  • Maintaining compliance with Information Governance policies by accurately managing patient and colleague records, and organizational reports.
