JOB: Demo Driver

LOCATION: South East / London

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: GBP 40,000 - GBP 48,000 per annum dependent on experience (please advise what you're looking for)

My client designs and manufactures engineering equipment, and they are looking to hire a Demo Driver on a permanent basis in the Kent area.

The Demo Driver will ideally have the following attributes:

• Apprenticeship / HNC / HND / BTEC or similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering or be qualified by experience; training can also be provided.
• Willingness to learn.
• Good hands-on practical engineering skills.
• This position could suit someone from a hands-on Service Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Car Sales background — someone who is mechanically minded with confidence to work with customers.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good time management skills.

The Role Involves:

• Demonstrating vehicle operation to customers and potential clients.
• Answering technical questions.
• Ensuring customers are comfortable operating the vehicle.
• Loading vehicles onto transporters when required.
• Driving loaded vehicles to customer sites, adhering to rules and regulations.
• Performing daily vehicle checks (water, tyre levels, oil levels).
• Maintaining phone contact with the sales office and reporting any issues.
• Completing work records as needed.
• Keeping vehicles and machines clean and operationally compliant.
