Job description

Do you have experience with Dementia Care? Do you have experience of leading a team?

We are looking for local people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and going the extra mile for our residents. We currently have a vacancy at Valley Lodge nursing home working full time hours a week.

The Dementia Support Worker role relies on a passion to learn; a passion to enable people with dementia to live well; hold excellent communication skills and the ability to accept a person for who they are.

The ideal candidate must be flexible in working all shifts.

You will be assisting residents with all aspects of their care including assisting with mealtimes and personal care. You will be responsible for administering medication and liaising with outside professionals.

Your experience in dementia doesn’t necessarily need to be paid experience; you might have cared for a family member or friend. You will need an NVQ2 and working towards your NVQ3 would be desirable. However, we can support you with this should you be successful in gaining a role with us.

Working for an established care provider like Ashmere, you start your journey with us by attending our monthly new starter company induction with all new joiners from all of our homes. We will kit you out with uniform, pay for your DBS check, provide you with regular Dementia specific training and maybe even spoil you with cake from time to time!

As well as the above we also have:

  1. Annual Ashmere Awards Ceremony
  2. Discretionary Welcome aboard bonus
  3. Attendance Bonus
  4. Refer a Friend Scheme
  5. Pension
  6. Ongoing Training and Development
  7. Staff Incentives
  8. Growth and carer progression
  9. Employee of the month recognition
