Job summary

Alzheimer's Research UK is seeking a Research Programme Manager to drive the Drug Discovery Alliance and Brains for Dementia Research initiatives, coordinating across the organisation and with external partners. The role sits in the Strategic Programmes team within the Research Directorate and requires strong programme management, attention to detail, and stakeholder engagement.

You will oversee delivery, reporting, and risk management, and support minutes, actions and strategic planning.

Qualifications

Degree in Biomedical Science, or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience.
Experience and/or in-depth knowledge in early-stage drug discovery, ideally in dementia.
Proven experience managing large programmes of work, preferably in the healthcare, research or charity sector.

Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of two of ARUK’s major initiatives, Drug Discovery Alliance (DDA) and Brains for Dementia Research (BDR), and other initiatives as required.
Monitor key programme progress, scientific developments and major outputs; work to communicate impact.
Line management of a Research Officer and promote an inspiring team culture with emphasis on personal development.
Act as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for the initiatives, internally and externally.
