Job summary

King's College London seeks an ambitious Research Project Manager to join the UK DRI, supporting EMERALD and the Marzi portfolio. You will coordinate projects, ensure funder compliance, manage budgets, and liaise with researchers, funders and external partners to deliver high-quality research outputs.

The role reports to the UK DRI Institute Manager and involves engagement with diverse stakeholders, public involvement activities, and ensuring timely, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Experience in project management, research administration or programme management.
• Knowledge of research governance, regulatory, ethical and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage operational aspects of projects against objectives, milestones, timelines and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with funder requirements, governance frameworks, ethical approvals, regulatory standards and policies.
• Develop, implement and maintain effective project management processes and documentation.
• Monitor progress, risks, deliverables and deadlines; identify issues and implement solutions.
• Prepare progress reports, funder submissions, financial reports and meeting papers.
• Support budget monitoring, expenditure tracking and resource allocation.
• Organise meetings, steering groups, governance committees and engagement activities.
• Maintain effective communication between investigators, funders, industry partners and stakeholders.
• Coordinate communications, dissemination activities and public engagement as required.
• Support Patient and Public Involvement activities including recruitment and data collection.
• Monitor data quality and compliance, handling sensitive information securely.
• Support recruitment and HR processes related to project staff.
• Coordinate research-related travel, meetings and events.
• Build relationships with UK DRI admin, school teams and central services.
• Provide administrative and project-management support to Dr Sarah Marzi and teams.
