Job summary

Caerphilly County Borough Council in Wales is recruiting a Care Assistant to join the Adult Services team at Brodawel Residential Home. The role covers dementia care and requires a person-centred, respectful approach to support residents.

The post offers part-time hours (14 and 21 hours), a permanent/fixed term structure, and access to training to develop health and social care knowledge. A supportive pension scheme and staff discounts accompany the package.

Qualifications

• Willingness to achieve Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care qualification within an agreed timescale.
• Knowledge of person-centred care.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support for older adults living with dementia in a home setting.
• Promote independence and wellbeing with a person-centred approach.
• Carry out duties to support residents in a dignified and respectful manner.
• Rota patterns are over a 7-day period with shifts 7:00–14:30 and 14:30–22:00, with opportunities for additional hours.
