A part time assistant is required to enable my mother to continue living independently. She is 88 years old and has a recent diagnosis of early stage Alzheimers.
The job will entail regular visits to help her plan weekly events such as medical appointments, household and garden maintenance contracts and social activities. She reads widely, watches documentaries and follows current affairs. She is also artistic and musical. The personal assistant / carer should share some of these interests. At present she cares for herself in the home, looks after her garden and has been driving, so far, without difficulty. However, these activities will need to be done by a personal assistant or carer in the near future. Due to this, flexibility to increase hours in the future is required.

To summarise, the job, at this stage, is to ensure that my mother does not miss important appointments and has someone to talk to regularly to confirm day to day plans and arrangements and so reduce anxiety and confusion. Regular communication by email with myself and other family members will also be required.
