You’ll be part of a caring, supportive team when you join Signature Senior Lifestyle as a Dementia Care and Lifestyle Assistant at our luxury care and nursing home in Caversham. As a Dementia Care and Lifestyle Assistant, you will provide support, information, and guidance to people living with dementia, helping to maintain their independence and well-being.

Your role at Signature

We need you to bring your compassion and uniqueness to this role.

You will provide direct care to residents, supporting and promoting their independence, assisting with washing, dressing, eating, drinking, and supporting residents with their mobility.

You will also support residents living with dementia to engage in meaningful daily activities, encouraging participation in activities that match their interests and joining them when possible.

You will develop strong relationships with residents and their families, supporting residents to make positive choices about eating well, exercising, and maintaining good hygiene to enhance their quality of life.

You will always be respectful of residents’ choices, dignity, and independence. You will also contribute to developing residents' Care Plans, being aware of any specialist support needs.

A knowledge of dementia, understanding of person-centered care, and how this is reflected within Dementia Care are required, along with good written and verbal communication skills and some IT skills. An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is a significant advantage.
