Job summary

The Royal British Legion is seeking an Admiral Nurse (North West) to provide specialist dementia care and support for families and carers in the North West of England. Based in the Greater Manchester/South Lancashire area, you will combine home visits with remote support to empower carers through diagnosis, transitions, and changing relationships.

The role requires RMN/RGN registration, a full UK driving licence, and at least 2 years post-registration dementia experience.

Qualifications

• RMN or RGN registration is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• At least 2 years post-registration experience in dementia care.
• Experience in community or outreach settings.
• Strong understanding of person-centred and relationship-centred dementia care.
• Ability to support carers through complex emotional and practical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist dementia assessment and support to carers, including home visits.
• Develop personalised, evidence-based intervention plans reflecting needs of carer and person with dementia.
• Promote relationship-centred care and recognise impact on families.
• Empower carers to maintain their own wellbeing while delivering high-quality care.
• Collaborate with health and social care professionals for coordinated, holistic support.
• Contribute to development and improvement of dementia care services and best practice.
• Deliver dementia-focused training and education to colleagues, carers, and partner organisations.
