Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Coordinator for Garner Ward in our Living Well Team. You will develop and deliver activities to enhance quality of life for patients with dementia, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful, person-centred care.

You will enable patients to engage in activities aligned with their interests, maintaining independence and ensuring a supportive, inclusive environment during their hospital stay.

Qualifications

• Qualification to level 3 or equivalent in relevant subject.
• Experience of providing social and recreational activities in group settings and with individuals.
• Previous experience of working in an inpatient environment.
• Experience of working with people who have cognitive, physical, learning disability or challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver meaningful activities for patients.
• Support patients to maintain daily living skills and independence.
• Promote social inclusion and positive therapeutic interactions.
• Provide holistic support addressing emotional, spiritual, cultural and religious needs.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, medical and support staff to enhance wellbeing.
• Create a calm, welcoming dementia-friendly ward environment.
• Encourage and support family involvement where appropriate.
